Kinashi area is west part of Takamatsu city. It is about 6 km from downtown in Takamatsu city. Takamatsu city is a capital of Kagawa prefecture. Takamatsu is the biggest town in Shikoku island.

It is said that growing of Bonsai at Kinashi was started about 250 years ago. It was said that original wilds plants were delivered from a island in the Seto-Sea (=Setonaikai). Black-Pinus, Pinus Pentapylla and Nishiki Pinus etv. might be cared by a hobby-people at that time. A special cares by local King (=Matsudaira) at Takamatsu might develop growing Bonsai at the 18th and 19th century..

[Kinashi] is so unpopular name in Japan. [KI] shows the Japanese name of ogre. [NASI] is non. We usually called the people of pirate as a ogre in old time. Thus, Kinashi might be the safe place even from pirate peoples from old time. Bonsai must be one way to keep Peace of Mind from the old time. Old people in Kinashi might try to feel kind to others from growing Bonsai.

If you want to deliver Bonsai to your home, your attentions to below points will be needed.

1. Shall you check your import regulation at your Plant Protection Service at the first?
2. In case for USA market, USDA are controlled for such import plants at international airport and or seaport.
3. At this moment, Pinus Pentapylla is only variety to US market. But, as any soil will be accepted in USA, any Pinus must be washed to take off soil in roots. Otherwise, passing for USDA should be impossible.
4. In case for EC and Canadian market, isolated growing for two years are ordered to any plants. Although we can deliver our Bonsai with soil in pots due to this regulation, many conditions were ordered to us.
5. Please ask such import conditions at your side and export conditions as a supplier at your Plant Protection Services. You can check the details of such imports.
6. Kinashi is one of few growing areas in Japan whether Japanese PQ controlled any growing Pinus Pentaphylla at this stage.
7. To Taiwan and Hong Kong, it is said more varieties of Pinus should supply at this stage. But, for protection from fumigation etc at ports, your checking through your eyes will be recommended.
